Trump Calls Spike Lee’s Oscar Speech a ‘Racist Hit on Your President’

On Sunday night, Spike Lee won his first competitive Oscar then made an acceptance speech that gained a standing ovation. But the events did not please at least one person apparently watching: President Trump. On Monday, he called Lee’s speech a “racist hit on your President.”

How many times must we endure this? No one gives a damn about the political opinions of people who know JACK SHIT about politics. Enough is enough. Whether it’s an actor or a professional athlete bashing Trump, at some point these people have to know their role. And please don’t misunderstand me. Everyone is entitled to free speech regardless of their career. That is exactly why I am at liberty to criticize this charade.

Just think about it. How many times have you sought to escape politics only to have it staring right back at you despite your best efforts? The entertainment industry, inclusive of professional sports, etc., is an avenue for escape for all who desire distractions from the divisive nature of politics. This Spike Lee Oscar speech is just another example of how difficult it is to escape the vice grip of political hatred nowadays.

Anger and hatred have caused people nationwide to say and do things that are quite unprecedented. The most frustrating thing about all of this is that an echo chamber of media bullshit propagandizes the less informed. Spike Lee is a smart man, and he’s good at what he does. However political propaganda has infected his ideology. This is because he, like so many who are involved in American pop culture are followers and not leaders. Moreover their political knowledge is limited. They have chosen to follow in lock step a radical progressive ideology, because it is the one most popular in popular culture.
